Culture is a social communication and interaction event that takes place in various forms. One of the forms in question is the minstrel tradition. The tradition of minstrel is one of the oldest means of expression of Turkish culture that has existed from past to present and still maintains its presence in Anatolia today. Erzurum, one of the important settlement centers of this field, is an important starting point for the minstrel tradition, in terms of its geographical location. The tradition was formed in a structure with a village character in Erzurum due to its representatives and was moved to the city through them. This study focuses on Âşık Yaşar Reyhanî, one of the representatives mentioned. Reyhanî is a minstrel whose name has been predicted by researchers to survive in the coming centuries. In addition, he is a name that is believed to bring together all the times of the tradition in his person. He is one of the most productive names in the minstrel tradition in XX. century. He has produced many works in the both poetry and folk story genres. In his poems, he sometimes came to the fore with his social criticisms and sometimes entered into a competition specific to tradition. In folk stories, he encouraged people to be good and beautiful and encouraged them to virtues such as patience, courage, justice and sacrifice. In this review, some determinations are made about what kind of connection Reyhanî establishes with his own copyrighted minstrel style works.
