Abstract

İbrani Harfli Karay Türkçesi Zemer: Ne Bıla Utrulayım

In this article, ‘zemer’, that is, religious melody, which is one of the divine texts, which has an important place in the religious rituals of the Karaites, who are the descendants of the Khazar Turks and who belong to the Karaite sect of Judaism, has been examined. It is noteworthy that this same text, which was written in different periods, reflects what elements in which period it differs and shows dialect characteristics. In the first part of the article, titled “General Overview of the Karaite Turks”, the history and beliefs of the Karaite Turks were briefly explained, and the Karaite Turkish was evaluated in the second part called “Karaite Turkish and Dialects”. The ‘zemer’, which forms the basis of the article, has been examined since the third chapter. In the third chapter, titled “Karaim Zemer with Hebrew-Letter : Ne Bıla Utrulayım”, the term zemer (divine) is mentioned and zemers are listed under five sub-headings. In the first sub-title of the third chapter, the zemer “Ne bıla utrulayım”, which was included in Aleksander Mardkowicz’s work Zemerler, is given as translated into Turkey Turkish. Again, the copies of the mentioned zemer text written in Karaite Turkish with Hebrew letters are dated to III. II. JSul.I.02, III. III. JSul.I.17, III. IV. JSul.I.19 and III. V. J.Sul.I.38.6 it is shown under the headings. The distinguishing elements in these five zemer texts, which are sometimes word-based and sometimes dialect-based, are evaluated in the fourth chapter because they were written in different periods and by different people. The original handwritten versions of the Hebrew texts deciphered in the third section are given in the fifth section, thus providing the opportunity for comparison.
