In this study, it is aimed to determine the phonological, morphological and semantic features of the words kirpi ? kipri, kirpik ? kiprik containing metathesis within the framework of historical criteria. In the creation of data suitable for the purpose of the study, the scanning model and document review technique and the source books related to the field were used, and the issues identified at the end of each stage of the study were described by us using the diachronic analysis method. In the first stage of the study consisting of four stages, the words kirpi ? kipri, kirpik ? kiprik, some of the existing dictionaries belonging to historical and contemporary Turkic written languages were examined and findings on the lexical features of the words in question were reached and etymological dictionaries related to the etymology of kirpi-kirpik words were scanned. In the second stage of the study, the question "Is there a phonological, morphological or semantic connection between the words kirpik ? kiprik, one of the Turkish organ names ending with the consonant -k, and kirpi ? kipri, one of the Turkish animal names?" was sought to be answered. In the third stage of the study, the metathesis phenomenon seen in the words kirpi ? kipri, kirpik ? kiprik was emphasised. In the last stage of the study, the findings of the study were interpreted by drawing attention to the metaphor event between the mazm of kirpik ? kiprik, which represents the arrows shot by the lover to the lover in Classical Turkish and Folk poems, and the kirpi ? kipri animal, whose back is covered with thorns and whose thorns are likened to arrows. In the conclusion part of the study, the situations and suggestions regarding the words kirpi ? kipri, kirpik ? kiprik are explained and put forward by us.
