Even if linguists made different definitions of synonymy and collocation, synonymy is generally defined as words with the same meaning and substitutability. Collocation commonly refers to syntactic attraction between two or more lexical elements. While some criteria have been used to distinguish collocations from other word combinations in linguistics, synonyms have been classified according to their degree of meaning. Noun + verb collocations formed by the verbs izlamoq, qidirmoq, axtarmoq, istamoq, which are synonymous in Uzbek Turkish were studied on a corpus-based basis and how the use of corpus can contribute to synonymy studies were studied in this study. Synonyms of the collocations which are formed by these verbs were analysed and studied whether they can form collocations with the same or similiar nouns. “What are the similarities and differences of izlamoq, qidirmoq, axtarmoq and istamoq in terms of meaning and collocation? Answers were sought to questions such as What is the collocation frequency of the verbs in question?” Uzbek Turkish Corpus which I have personally created since 2020 through KKDP (Do It Yourself Corpora) was utilized in the study. The corpus has a corpus data base of 4.597.611 words which was created by digitizing the documents in 9 Magazine and 19 newspaper on the internet.
