Abstract

Mitik, Epik ve Dinsel Anlatıların Kurgusal Gerçekliğinde Gizlenen Ekolojik Krizler

Historical reality, which refers to events and historical figures supported by historical documents, archaeological findings, and reliable sources, forms the fundamental argument for understanding, learning, and evaluating past events, cultures, and people. In contrast to historical reality, fictional reality belongs to the world of mythical, epic, religious, and artistic narratives. Due to their inherent functional nature emphasizing the sacred, the fictional realities of myths and religious narratives have often been accepted as historical reality by societies throughout historical processes. Scientific perspectives questioning the partial and comprehensive crises presented as manifestations of the "wrath of the sacred" in mythical, epic, and religious narratives during the rise of positivism have now begun to see these narratives as a powerful source for identifying and evaluating ecological crises that have been experienced throughout history. In today's world, where ecological crises frequently occur, the importance of narrative reality is increasingly being explored as a strong resource for ecological research that can be associated with historical reality. In this study, the newfound direction of identifying ecological crises that have remained mysterious in deep historical periods due to limited sources, and making inferences about their causes and consequences, has been discussed in terms of its conceptual and functional aspects. In addition to the narratives found in common beliefs and stories of humanity, alternative functions in ecological analysis have been presented for the disasters featured in Turkish myths and epic narratives.
