Üç Bursa Şehrengizinde Renkler ve Rengiyle Öne Çıkan Nesneler

Colors play a pivotal role in Ottoman poetry, a genre shaped by the labors of formidable poets known for their depth in meaning, expression, and aesthetics. These hues form the backbone of an imaginative realm where delicate and somber moods are painted. In this context, colors and objects distinguished by their shades become vital tools for the poet. This significance extends beyond mere artistic expression; historically, colors have influenced human psychology, been utilized in art and architecture, and have played a role in treating neurological disorders, carrying profound associations across various domains. Specifically, in the city descriptions (şehrengiz) of Divan literature, a distinctly indigenous form, vivid depictions are a common sight. Here, the mention of depictions invariably brings to mind the play of colors. Through systematic employment of colors, poets craft vibrant pictorial scenes with words, etching their verses into the visual memory. The contribution of colors to the poetic world also includes hastening the flow of thought, amplifying emotions, and simplifying perception. This article delves into the rich tapestry of meanings crafted through verses adorned with colors and color-highlighted objects in the Bursa şehrengiz penned by Lâmi‘î Çelebi, Mânî, and Vîzeli Behiştî.
